16 weeks!

Mommy and Peanut

How far along? 16 weeks

Baby size: 3.53 oz and 4.57 inches; size of an avocado

Maternity clothes: Yep!

Stretch marks: Nothing new

Sleep: So far so good

Gender: Not sure yet, date set for January 14 to find out :)

Best moments of the week: Feeling the baby move one night at work last week. My doctor's appt this week. Peanut's heartbeat was 150 and I only gained 1 lb :D Plus setting the date to find out if peanut is a boy or girl!

Looking forward to: January 14.....Christmas is next week :) Looking forward to time with family and watching Meredith enjoy opening her gifts.

What I miss: My energy level :(

Movement: Yep, but only if I'm sitting still. Feels like popcorn popping in my belly. Such an amazing feeling. Forgot how much I missed it....Can't wait to feel lots of kicks and jabs soon :)

Food Cravings: Finally filled my steak craving the other night. Tom took me out to Outback, it was so yummy! Now I want some seafood :)

Anything making you queasy or sick? I get sick pretty much daily anymore.

Labor signs: Not yet!

Symptoms: Morning sickness and my back is starting to ache more now.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Happy, but stressed. Looking forward to next week when things slow down a bit.

Nursery: Waiting until the 14th to see if we need to buy blue paint :) Plus Meredith's still in there right now. We plan on working on her big girl room after Christmas is over. Even if we have to paint the nursery we probably won't start working on it until February or March anyway. We don't really have that much we would have to change.
Our little avocado :)

Week 12 Bumpdate

Post is a week late, will post my 13 week update tomorrow or Friday :)

Baby Jenkins #2 at 12 weeks ~

How far along? 12 weeks

Baby size: Baby J is about the size of a plum. 2.1 inches long and weighs around .49 oz

Maternity clothes: Yep, still able to wear some non-maternity sweats around the house. Other than that it's pretty much all maternity.

Stretch marks: I had horrible stretch marks with Meredith that never really went away. Luckily for now they are that horrible pink and purple they were with her. I keep lathering on the belly cream in hopes of keeping them at bay a little longer.

Sleep: Working 3 nights a week has my sleep schedule mixed up anyway. So I sleep pretty much whenever I can and get as much as I can :)

Gender: 7 more weeks and we should know. Still have a feeling its a boy though :)

Best moments of the week: 12 week doctor's appointment. Everything looks great and baby is growing right on schedule.

Looking forward to: Thanksgiving next week! Yummy food and great time with my family.

What I miss: my energy level is still a lot lower then it was before I was pregnant. I'm hoping I get a boost of energy here soon.

Movement: Not yet, hopefully soon though. I felt Meredith around 14-16 weeks, so just a couple more weeks to go.

Food Cravings: Steak! Anything red meat sounds so yummy.

Anything making you queasy or sick?: Chicken and I aren't getting along and this baby does not like Mexican food. Which is all I craved with Meredith :)

Labor signs: Nope not yet.

Symptoms: My morning sickness is finally starting to subside a little this week. I'm hoping the medicine they put me on continues to keep it away.

Belly button in or out? In

Wedding rings on or off? On

Mood: Happy, but really tired this week.

Nursery: Meredith is still sleeping in the nursery. After the holidays are over we plan on moving her to the spare bedroom. The nursery is 100% complete if we have another little girl. If this one is a boy we have to re-paint the pink strips blue and buy blue accessories for the room. Shouldn't be to much work if a little boy decides to join our family :)

Baby J #2 at 12 weeks! Peanut looks great, heart rate around 140bpm :)

Close up of Peanut at 12 weeks!

Big Sister Meredith wanted in on our weekly photo :) She loves her baby already!

A Little Blog Challenge :)

May Blogging Challenge!
I was catching up on some blog reading the other day and I noticed one of the blogs I follow, Natasha from Hello Happiness was doing a blog every day in May challenge. I thought what a great way to be held a little more accountable for blogging every day. So I thought I would give it a try. I'm a few days behind so I will catch up and do all 7 days at once. We'll see how it goes and how faithful I am to it :)

Day 1 - The story of your life in 250 words or less.....
I'm Lindsay, I am 26 years old and live in the great Hoosier State :) I am a follower of Christ, and I know I wouldn't be where I am at today without his love and guidance in my life. I graduated from nursing school in 2011 and currently work at one of our local hospitals as an RN on the cardiac floor. I met Tom, my very own prince charming in the summer of '06 and married him a year and a half later. May 2011 we welcomed a small piece of heaven into our lives, our daughter - Meredith Lurena. She is by far the joy and highlight of our lives together. We live in a small suburb of Indianapolis with our 2 dogs and 3 cats - and now Meredith's 4 fish :) I enjoy traveling, new foods, reading, and blogging! I love summer and being able to be outdoors and wear my growing number of summer dresses :) My life is great and I wouldn't change a thing!

Day 2 - Educate us on something you know a lot about or are good at.....
Well, my career is in medicine - but I don't really think I know a lot about that. There is so much to know and I learn numerous things everyday. I'm actually very informed on US history, particularly the US Presidents and Civil War. I have been to the majority of the Civil War sites when I was younger and can't wait to take Tom and Meredith to all of them. I can pretty much tell you who all the Presidents were, maybe not in the correct order, but can name them all. I'm looking forward to teaching Meredith all about history when she gets older.

Day 3 - Things that make you uncomfortable.....
Confrontation.....I don't like to argue with people and get really frustrated when someone thinks they know everything. I think an intelligent person learns something new each and everyday and grows because of it.

Day 4 - Favorite quote and why you love it.....
"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me", Philippians 4:13
I live by this verse, it is one of my favorite verses/quotes. Anytime I feel like I can't possibly continue this verse provides me with the strength and courage to strive forward.

Day 5 - Publicly profess your love and devotion for one of your blogger friends. What makes them so great? And why do you love them?
Katy from Life With Laney is one of my dear friends. I actually met her through her sister, Jenny, who I went to college with. I love reading Katy's blog she has the sweetest little girl Laney, and I love reading about Laney and all the cute and fun things she does. Katy just recently had her second child, a little boy - Sawyer Jonathan. I am looking forward to reading about him and his big sister as they grow :)

Day 6 - If you couldn't answer with your job the following question, how would you answer it?
"What do you do?"
I would tell people that I "do" a lot of things. I cook, clean, be a mother, a wife, a Christian, a friend, a neighbor, a daughter, a sister, a dog owner, a handywoman, a shopper, a hairstylist, etc. The list could go on, but I think you get the general idea :)

Day 7 - The thing(s) your most afraid of.....
I try not to have fear and try to remember that God is in control and never gives me anything I can't handle.
However, if I had to pick something it would be the fear of not succeeding. I'm afraid that something I am meant or supposed to do will just pass me by. I want to make sure everyday that I am on this earth I utilize my true potential and show God's love while doing so.

Easter Weekend '13

We had a great Easter weekend. I took the weekend off from work so we could go to church and enjoy our Sunday afternoon together. We knew Meredith would enjoy Easter a little more this year. We didn't even bother doing Easter eggs last year because she was only 11 months old. We dyed the eggs late Saturday night, Meredith was tired and wasn't really into it. However, she loved finding them! She loved the first hunt so much we had to hide them again and then bribe her with bubbles because she wanted to do it a 3rd time.

Meredith at Easter 2012 & Easter 2013
11 months and 22 months

I loved her Easter dress this year, I found it at Once Upon a Child for $8.00. It looks like it has never been worn. It is all white, with little yellow flowers on it. I love her in yellow, both of her Easter's dresses from this year and last were yellow. Her sweater was a $1 at a garage sale I found last fall. The shoes are new from Payless Shoes, she is going to be the flower girl in my sister's wedding in June. Since she is wearing them for two occasions, I didn't mind buying them new. I usually don't buy anything new for her unless its on sale. She goes through clothes so fast that I don't see the point in spending the full price for something. I love to hit up garage sales in the summer. I save everything that she has outgrown, either we will reuse it someday or my sister will when she has a daughter.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, we all had a great day and are looking very forward to spring getting here and staying here :)
Meredith hunting Easter eggs, and Meredith's goodies from the Easter bunny. If you couldn't tell, she loves Elmo and Dora :)
Excuse our messy yard, we haven't had a chance to get out and clean it up from all the winter mess. We had 9 inches of snow covering it all just 2 weeks ago :(
