Hello Everyone!
Welcome to the Jenkins Family blog! We are so happy you stopped by for a visit. I have always been into blogs and keeping up with people through them, so I thought I would try to start being more diligent about posting. I thought what better way to start then with an introduction about our family. So sit back and enjoy :)
My husband, Tom, was born on February 8 here in Indianapolis. His parents still reside in Zionsville, with his older sister, in the house he grew up in. He graduated Pike High School in 2001, and attended Indiana University where he received his Bachelor's Degree in 2007. He completed his MPA in 2011 with emphasis on Business Management. He works for the State of Indiana. He has worked there for 5 years now and continues to make his way of the ladder in his department. He is a huge sports fan and loves his Indianapolis Colts! He also enjoys working outside and working on the numerous projects I have listed his help in building. He is a great husband, father, son, and partner in life. My life would definitely not be the same without him in it :)
Our daughter, Meredith Lurena, was born on May 24 here in Indianapolis as well. She is the light in our lives and is such a fun and energetic little girl. She is getting ready to turn 18 months old here in a week. She is such a smart little thing already, and amazes me with everything she can do already. She loves to climb on anything and everything! She loves her dolls and is already a little mommy to her baby Emily. She loves pushing her in her stroller and always has to share her juice with her. She is a social butterfly and loves everybody. She loves her kitty cats, she always gets so excited when she gets to go down to the basement to visit them. Our life has changed for the better since she arrived and we are enjoying experiencing life again through the eyes of a child.
We have 5 fur babies in addition to Meredith. Hunter, who is 5, is our mutt. He has so many different breeds mixed in him we don't even know them all. I guess that's what makes him so special. We got Hunter when he was only 4 weeks old in August 2007, about 2 months before our wedding. He really is a sweetheart, although he does like to complete for our attention and is still a baby and loves to cuddle with us. Dallas, who is 4, is our Great Dane. Yes, we have 2 dogs who are both over 80 lbs and a 1 1/2 year old toddler. It is impossible to keep our home clean needless to say. We got Dallas in May 2008, about a week before we were to move into our new apartment. She was a very energetic puppy and still is. She is a very gentle dog and is very good with Meredith and is so sweet to her. We also have 3 cats - Bear, Ellie, and Charlie, Tom had these cats before we were married.
Now about me :) I was born on March 14 in Lafayette, about 1 hour Northwest of Indianapolis. I grew up in Thorntown with my younger sister and my parents. My parents and sister still reside in Thorntown in the house I grew up in. I was homeschooled beginning in the 5th grade and graduated in 2006. I attended MedTech College in Indianapolis, and graduated in 2011 with my Associates degree in nursing. I currently work at St. Vincent hospital, and hope to have my RN license by the end of the year. I love being a mommy and spending time with my little angel. I also enjoy shopping, reading, organizing, home improvement, church activities and just having fun. I love trying new things and am always open to new ideas.
Well that's the run down of our family. I will add some other stories later on, so stayed tune.
Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back!
I am so excited to get back into posting on here daily if I can. I wasn't able to keep up with posting on here while I was in school. However, that changed as of December 23. I have officially graduated from nursing school!!!! I have my Associates Degree in Nursing Science. I am so excited to final be done with nursing school. I am waiting to be approved to take my state license examination so I can start working. Unfortunately, a registered nurse is rather useless unless they are licensed - because we are unable to pass medication without being licensed. So I can not start working until I pass my boards. It has been 3 weeks since I submitted my paperwork so hopefully this week or next I will be able to set up a date. I am really open to where I start working, I just want to get some experience and then decide what field I want to go into. I hope to begin my Bachelor's program next month. That will take me about 2 years to complete. I am debating on whether or not to go on for my Master's degree. I really want to teach on down the road and in order to teach I will need my Master's. I guess I will start with my BSN and go from there ;)
Now on to Meredith......she is doing awesome! She will be 9 months old on Thursday. I can't believe she will be 1 in just 3 more months. I have started planning her party to some degree, but will probably get deeper into planning come the end of March. I have a couple of theme ideas, just not sure which one I am going to go with yet. She started crawling last weekend! She is all over the place. She won't sit still for more then a second. I love that she can move around, but do miss her being stationary to some degree as well. She is a very talkative little 8 month old. We may not know what she is saying, but she sure knows. We go to Bible study every Wednesday morning at church and she loves her time in the nursery. She loves the nursery workers and loves to play with the other little babies. There is another little girl in there that is two days younger than Meredith. And a little boy who is 5 days older than Meredith. So they all enjoy playing with each other. Meredith is such a little sweetie and I love the time we get to spend together.
Well, that is my update for tonight. I need to get back to studying!
Happy Sunday night everyone :)
